Human genome exhibition
Multimedia installations designed for MUSE - Trento Science Museum are part of the exhibition "Human Genome, what make us unique". The exhibit deals with issues concerning the state of research and knowledges in the field of genetics from historical, ethical and scientific perspectives. Curators choice ranges from DNA sequencing to manipulation techniques, presenting to a large public issues which are very current nowadays. Our role in the project was to deal with the interactive installations of the exhibition, producing software and digital interfaces.
Experience and design choices are oriented to an audience composed mainly of children and teenagers, users who approach these kind of topics for the first time. The complexity of the project was to transmit a technical content with a clear language and simple metaphors.
The production achieves educational goals established by the scientific commettee, creating installations coordinated with the exhibit purposes and vision: interactive games, knowledges' quiz, awareness' content. The result of this collective work is a path that guides the public to investigate delicated topics balancing scientific information with a gaming and educational approach.
